Barbara Splan is a Florida-based mixed media artist. Her paintings, collages and works on paper explore intersections of the natural world, abstraction and ornamentation. She often uses unconventional processes (cutting up larger paintings to make smaller ones) and found materials (leaves, laundry dryer sheets).
She lives on the Gulf Coast of Florida where she has collected over 1000 sharks’ teeth, which she has collected on the beach near her home. If you look closely you might find one in her work.
